Montpelier and Monticello: A Tour of American Presidency and Historical Preservation

As part of a second year Residential Design class the students took an educational field trip to Charlottesville, Virginia to research historical preservation efforts in significant presidential residences.  Students toured and documented the once private homes of James Madison's Montpelier and Thomas Jefferson's Monticello for an on going research project to better understand the evolution of American design, architectural, history, and culture.

Many thanks to Sheryl Pugh, Gina Hicks, and Addie Welch for their photography.
