Graduate Spotlight: Brittany Privette, Furnitureland South Design Consultant

·      This week's graduate spotlight is on Brittany Privette, recent RCC graduate and now Design Consultant for Furnitureland South.

Upon completing her graduation Privette began a 3 week rigorous training course which consisted of a number of aspects including the expectations of a sales/interior design consultant at FLS. She spent a whole day training just on order entry which was definitely the most overwhelming and challenging part of the training. She also toured all 1.3 million square feet combined of the Distribution center, Outlet, Sleepland gallery, Showroom, and the Mart and learned a tremendous amount of information on the psychology of sales and how people work and why clients do the things they do. By learning these tools she stated that it,
"helped me to better connect and engage with clients.  One of the highlights I enjoyed in training was getting to see my passion for sales. I have been in sales for almost 4 years now and I had no idea how special sales was to me until I started working here.  I also didn’t realize how great I was at selling until I came to FLS. They gave me the opportunity to get the best possible sales training out there.  I was able to express sales differently through a new perspective all because of FLS training. This allowed me to see a clear perspective on who I am as a person and what I was meant to do in life. The training was not only “just” training for a new job, it was an emotional experience in my career I will never forget."
·
·      Some of her clients thus far have been from New York, New Jersey, Florida, Michigan and North Carolina. She has also had the opportunity to shadow a few colleagues with their clients and accompany a colleague for an in home consultation located in Asheboro, NC.
·        "My continuing education on sales and design here at FLS has allowed me to tour the Baker furniture factory in High Point, NC and the main factory in Hildebran, NC right outside of Hickory, NC. FLS is always giving us the opportunity to enhance and broaden our knowledge of our products and new products for the future, allowing us to have the potential to be experts."

·        Currently, FLS has a TV show called “The Design Network” that is broadcasted on YouTube featuring Rebecca Robeson, Interior Designer.  Robeson is currently working on a project for young beauty guru, Talia Castellano, who recently died of childhood cancer at the age of 13. As a tribute to Talia;s life, Robecca is designing a bed/makeup room in Orlando for young cancer patients to come to and to be inspired by Talias strong will and courage. Furnitureland South is donating the furnishings for this project. Privette has assisted with the shopping for Robecca at FLS and find the appropriate furnishings she wanted. "This was a wonderful opportunity that I was pleased to have been a part of."
